About Shanna
My Story
I am a mother that has a strong conviction to assist families to have their best births possible. I believe that God has made a woman's body to grow, birth, and sustain life. If you have all of the information, you can make the best choices for the birth that you prefer for your family.
In 2016 I began my doula training through D.O.N.A. International, an accredited certification that is acknowledged throughout the world. I have been working with nurses and midwives and physicians to become exactly what any mother may need before, during, and after her birth. Being a mother of two myself, I know the importance of having the proper physical and emotional support throughout pregnancy and during your birth.

When I found out I was pregnant, I was terrified.This was my first pregnancy and I'm single in the military. I didn't have family here or friends around. The ones I did have, were stationed on ships and I'm on shore duty. So needless to say, I felt so alone and didn't know what to do. I was introduced to Shanna through friends I had met while volunteering at a local thrift store, and I have to say, she helped me immensely. She really helped me with the confidence and positive energy I really needed. For once during my pregnancy, I didn't feel alone anymore. . She prayed for me, and when I had to go against some of the things that I didn't want, like getting an epidural and having a c-section, I felt like a failure. She encouraged me and brought my spirits up. I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and even though I had my sister, I couldn't have done it without Shanna being there, helping me and praying for me . She's a great mom and an AMAZING doula. I am forever grateful for her being there when I couldn't have my family. If get pregnant again while in Florida....I would LOVE her to be my doula again.
